This theme will display a list of posts on the front page by default. If you want to use a “Static Page” with your own custom content instead: 1. In your WordPress admin > navigate to in Settings > Reading. 2. The default WordPress install has the Front page displays set to Your Latest Posts. To display some custom content on your home page (like in the demo), select “A static page” and for the “Front page” option assign a custom page from the dropdown. 3. (Note: Using the Post page option in Settings > Reading will negate all page templates, so it’s best to leave this blank. For more information on this, check out this link from the WordPress Codex: http://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Reading_Screen - Don’t worry, you’ll be able to set this functionality and many other options in the page options for each page). 4. You can set any page here but for demo purposes, choose “Home Page, Front Page or Welcome” from the dropdown.
I cannot find where to make home the static page.
Thanks A Bunch,
Melanie
Hi Melanie,
Try this:
This theme will display a list of posts on the front page by default. If you want to use a “Static Page”
with your own custom content instead:
1. In your WordPress admin > navigate to in Settings > Reading.
2. The default WordPress install has the Front page displays set to Your Latest Posts. To
display some custom content on your home page (like in the demo), select “A static page”
and for the “Front page” option assign a custom page from the dropdown.
3. (Note: Using the Post page option in Settings > Reading will negate all page templates, so it’s
best to leave this blank. For more information on this, check out this link from the
WordPress Codex: http://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Reading_Screen - Don’t worry, you’ll
be able to set this functionality and many other options in the page options for each page).
4. You can set any page here but for demo purposes, choose “Home Page, Front Page or
Welcome” from the dropdown.
Let me know if that helps!
Charles,
This worked great!
Sorry I didn't see that going through everything. I should have.
Thanks again,
Melanie
No worries, glad to hear that helped!
