    The mega menu is not showing columns but the writing is going horizontally instead.

    I've updated mega menu but not sure why it is still showing this.

    Is this an error with the update or am I doing something wrong?

    Also there's a new update for visual composer that cannot be updated through Wordpress.

    Can this be done please?

    • Also, how do you add speakers for sermons?

    Yet once I preview a page, the menus appear fine.

    Hi There,

    01 - Mega Menu: The mega menu looks fine on my end (see screenshot). If you are still having issues with something specific, I'll need steps to replicate to be able to offer any thoughts.

    02 - Mega Menu v. Logo: To fix the logo from overlapping the mega menu, try adding this snippet to Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS:

    #page #site-heading > a {
      z-index: 1;
    }

    03 - Speaker for Sermons: "Speakers" for Sermons are simply authors. Navigate to the sermon and assign an author. If there is something specific that I'm overlooking, please include some additional information to help illustrate/replicate.

    04 - Updating Visual Composer: Best way to do this is via FTP (the new version of VC is included in the latest theme-download package).

    Here are some links that should help out:

    Thank you very much.

    Do you have any reason why the latest sermons widget is not showing the video?

    It's coming up with a playback error message.

    It's not working here either.... http://development.ricc.org.uk/dev/sermon/pastor-elect-angela-rochester/

    Can you send me the link to the video on YT? You might try both the long url and the shorten "share" url... I don't have this issue with YT on my end (http://passage.themeisland.net/sermon/youtube-video/), but I can at least take a look at why this might be happening for you.

    Thanks.

    You need to deactivate your non-theme-included 3rd party plugins before I can help: Standard Troubleshooting Steps If you need to get someone involved on your end, then I recommend you do that since I cannot do this for you.

    For updating VC, check out the links I provided in my first response. If you need to get someone involved who can help you updated this via FTP or if you need to purchase a standalone license to have automatic updates, you have some options but ultimately this is up to you.

    Thank you. I will get someone to help me out with this.

    Also, the images are too large in the mega menu; how would I resize them?

    I've tried editing the width and height but it's still not resizing.

    [See attached]

    Any help?

    Also, from the dashboard the website looks fine when I'm editing.

    But on the front end, this is what it shows (see attached).

    This only started happening last night.

    Any ideas?

    Mega Menu Image Sizes: Depends on how you are adding these images... WordPress began providing a UI for users to alter images within the WP Admin > Media (see screenshot). From there, you'll want to upload the correct sized images if you are using HTML to add these images in a Text Widget.

    Mega Menu Layout: Not sure what options you've changed, this was working the last time I checked (the Frontend now looks messed up...). I recommend going back through your changes when this occurred.

    Backend Editing v. Frontend Editing v. what the Frontend truly is, I don't know what you are referring to... Are editing using the Visual Composer Frontend Editor? Or Appearance > Customize, or something else? I can say, that Frontend Editors are not always true to what they show, since there are several other plugins and styles being loaded v. not being loaded when in a Frontend Customizer. Because of that, if you are having issues, I always recommend using the more consistent Backend Editors, and loading a new window for the Preview.

    Again, all of this could be related to your 3rd party plugins or altered/modified/added code, so you'll need to run through those Standard Troubleshooting Steps before I can help further.

    Now the menu widgets are duplicating.

    Any ideas?

    It's just one thing after the other with this...

    Unfortunately, since I'm not experiencing this on the demo or my test installs and because I don't have any other reports of this, I don't have any additional insight at this time.

  • OnliFia replied

    Thanks for your reply Chris.

    I have managed to work that al out now.

    I am experiencing one more issue though and that's in relation to the Give Form widget appearing in the max mega menu.

    It used to look like the one in the Passage theme but for some reason I just cant get the widget to look like that anymore.

    I've changed all settings in the donation form to match those from the Passage theme template but it's still not showing up correctly.

    Also it says there's an update for Visual Composer but I cannot update this from Wordpress.

    Any advice?

    Have you deactivated your plugins? It looks like you have something minifying or caching styles that is breaking this.

  • OnliFia replied

    Okay.

    I've tried to mess around with the settings in cache and minify and nothing's working.

    I've deactivated all the third party plugins now.

    It's literally this Give form setting that I need to be sorted and then the website will be complete.

    Really need help :/

    Charles replied

    You still have minification running either in a plugin or through your configuration and possibly some other variables that are not stock with WP or the theme... For example style.css is not showing up in your source, and you have this declaration in your source:

    <!-- Performance optimized by W3 Total Cache. Learn more: https://www.w3-edge.com/products/
    Object Caching 17701/18435 objects using disk
    Page Caching using disk: enhanced
    Content Delivery Network via N/A
    Minified using disk
    Database Caching 31/350 queries in 2.184 seconds using disk
     Served from: development.ricc.org.uk @ 2017-09-23 18:56:50 by W3 Total Cache -->

    I can't help beyond the stock theme and stock install:

    Hello...

    Please could I get some help with setting up the embedded sermons player like this one.

    I assume this is something to do with assigning a sermon to a specific player, which I've done but my website still shows blank like in the attachment #2.

    Any advice?

    Also could you explain the different media options for the sermons i.e. audio, video & download and where would I find the different urls for this.

    Hi,

    01 - Introduction/General Information: Please read up on the documentation provided to gain more insight into the Sermons & Sermon Player (attached - Section 3, Part 3).

    02 - Sermon Media: You have two options for sermon media - (1) Video and (2) Audio. Download is a secondary method of delivery, as the players wont work unless playable media/content is present.

    Video - I've provided 3 methods for assigning a video to a Sermon - YouTube, Vimeo, or Self Hosted.

    Audio - I've provided 2 methods for assigning audio - Upload or URL.

    Generating and applying these links are up to you, but I've provided those options.

    03 - Sermons Page: This page is using a custom Embed option. In short, you can simply add the Player Shortcode provided for each player via Sermons > Sermon Players (see screenshots). There is some additional code surrounding the player-shortcode-embed, which showcased some additional functionality if you chose to do something similar to whats provided on this page:

    http://passage.themeisland.net/sermons/
